Scientists have hot found a remedy for cancer yet. Doctors apply different cancer treatment methods such as surgeries, laser therapy, Chemotherapy. Meanwhile, many patent medicines, which make the life in remission longer, are sold on the market. One of these medications was invented in Bulgaria. Researches of Professor Spartak Hadjiev lie in the bottom of this valuable discovery. Hadjiev dedicated 50 years of his life to find a vaccine against cancer. His deed was continued by his daughter associate professor Nasya Hadjieva and his grandson- associate professor doctor Mihail Petrov. In 2012 their medicine received a European license. A month ago its creators received the Bulgarian award Inventor of the year.” Our product actually stimulates the immune system to deal with the cancer cells. It practically teaches the human body to fight with foreign cells during the decease and distinguish own cells from foreign ones “, says associate professor Nasya Hadjieva. In her view small quantities of this vaccine help the body to find the foreign cells.

“We know this substance for a long time”, Nasya Hadjieva goes on to say. ”The invention of this medicine started in the Medical University of Plovdiv in the middle of the 20th century and was continued by three generations in my family. In the bottom of it lies the tuberculoses vaccine, which is used worldwide to fight cancer. The new substance we developed consists of 2 components. One of the substances is “alive” substance and the other one is a filtrate. The proportion between these two helps people suffering from cancer and better protects healthy people.

This substance disallows the cancer cells to multiply. This is why it was recognized in Bulgaria in 2010 and in Europe in 2012. We have many patients with different cancer and at different stage of this decease. There are 10 000 people with various cancer types and stages in our card-index. Many people come to us as there is a huge interest towards this vaccine. However, I would like to underline that this is not an alternative therapy. We are talking about the classical therapy of the cancer deceases, which we usually start after all other courses of Chemotherapy, laser therapy and of course surgery, when possible. The cancer deceases can not be predicted. They are extremely shocking, but I would like to tell people that we give them a hope, which should not be regarded as a heal-all. This is just another stage in their treatment”, says Nasya Hadjieva.

During the process of licensing of this vaccine, many representatives of foreign hospitals have asked associate professor Nasya Hadjieva to allow them use it in the treatment of their patients suffering from cancer. Among them are hospitals from Greece, Croatia and Germany. “In fact the struggle for receiving a European license began some 10 years ago. We filed our first application form back in 2003. Later we had to modify the medicine several times and change the relevant documentation. What Europe opposed to our substance was the already existing medicine invented by my father in the 1970’s. So we had to fight against our own previous modifications of medicines in order to receive a license”, associate professor Hadjieva recalls.

“Many people come to us for help. However, we are still in a validation process, despite the license we have been issued with. Each European country will adopt the license during the next 9 months. This is the procedure of the European Licensing Company. So far we received confirmation from 22 countries. Another 5 countries have to confirm that they do not possess such substances in their list. We are hoping that after March 2013, we will be able to negotiate with all European countries for selling this cancer vaccine”, Nasya Hadjieva concludes.
